#### 2A. Warm up:

Teaching artist Roxanne Rojas exemplifies to a kindergarten class how to use body movements and tell stories using body movements. The teacher makes sure that the students use their body movements to demonstrate a meaning rather than using their voice. Activities include using creativity and imagination to tell stories with their body.

#### 2C. Modeling:

The teacher, Roxanne and children use different body movements while imagining that they are trees. They use body movements that pertain to being in the perspective of a tree. Students twist their knees, balance on one leg, bend their knees, and shake their knees. The students then all stretch when the dancer explains this happens when trees grow. Other body movements such as pulling and pushing are implemented when the dancer gives the students a specific scenario that uses those specific body movements.

Using a Venn diagram, the teacher explains to the students the difference between “Axial and Locomotor.” The students used two methods of movement: axial which involves staying in one spot and locomotor which involves movement.
