We face rising seas that will displace millions of people in coastal cities, increasing damages from more powerful storms and hurricanes, intensification of drought, reductions in food security, and widespread loss of animal and plant species we depend on. How can society transform and manage our energy, water, agricultural and natural systems to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change? We firmly believe that impactful climate action is rooted in science.
Effective solutions to improve understanding and management of climate change issues have already been developed.
Our goal is to turn scientific discoveries into action for the climate. As we are already witnessing the catastrophic effects of climate change, we leverage the best available science to craft sustainable solutions and guide policymakers, industries, and citizens toward a more hopeful future.
CLEWS Faculty
CLEWS faculty members are among the most prominent and distinguished experts in their respective fields. From Earth System Science to Environmental Engineering to Computational Science, CLEWS will foster collaboration and synergy to form integrated research teams to address the scientific and technical challenges posed by climate change using the best available science.
