Political Science/
Social Policy and Public Service Double Major
From Norwalk, CA

I am a Campus Representative at UC Irvine. I also work for the Office of Admissions as the Public Information Assistant and Event Coordinator Assistant. I am a founder and currently the Secretary for the Latino Pre-Law Society. I am also a Transparency Project Intern for the Office of the President in ASUCI.

I chose to participate in the Costa Rica Program because I wanted to learn about a culture that was completely different than what I was accustomed to. I have always grown up in the city and been surrounded by the busy lifestyle of Los Angeles, but I want to get out of my comfort zone and experience life through another culture. Being that I am a Political Science major, I love learning how different countries interact with their government and how the government plays a part in the way the country and the people operate. This is what I am excited to see while in Costa Rica. Everything from the culture, the people, the food, to the everyday lifestyle is what I look forward to experiencing.

Being able to compare the Costa Rican culture to how we live our lives here in the United States intrigues me. Along with all of that, I am so excited to be able to work with such an amazing group of people. Coming to UC Irvine, I have realized that there is so much knowledge I can gain from the world, and in fulfilling my aspirations I hope the Costa Rica program will expand my horizons and be the first of many adventures.
