Hi! My name is Jeffrey, and I am a 4th year student majoring in Environmental Science. I was born in Northridge, which is located in the San Fernando Valley. I chose to participate in the Costa Rica Program because I am genuinely interested in learning more about sustainable practices in different, more rural communities. I am curious to see how people utilize their resources without the use of high-powered technology. I can only learn so much through readings and videos so I want to experience the sustainable methods first-hand.
I am involved with the Anteater Recreation Center, the International Peer Mentor Group, Kappa Beta Zeta Leadership Fraternity, research, and most recently the Costa Rica Program at the University of California, Irvine. I am most excited to get out my comfort zone and experience a lifestyle that is entirely unknown to me. I am elated to be a part of a team that is committed to learning and culturally immersing themselves in a new environment.
