DISASTER DASHBOARD

In a climate-changing world, it is critical to advance research on how our communities will be impacted, raise awareness about climate and disaster risks, and drive actionable solutions. Aligned with CUSP’s mission to foster sustainable urban development and promote human flourishing, our team is committed to this essential work.

The Disaster Dashboard’s mission is to provide accurate, science-based disaster information all in one place. It serves as a central digital hub for Orange County residents—and beyond—to learn about and prepare for disasters. Click the items below to explore resources, research, and CUSP-hosted events that raise awareness about key climate disaster topics. Under the guidance of CUSP director Dr. Richard Matthew (right), Alexandria Aubley (left) created the Disaster Dashboard:

“The goal of the CUSP Disaster Dashboard is to serve as a reliable, centralized disaster information database for Orange County. I developed this database to bridge critical disaster information with valuable insights from UC Irvine faculty: aggregating local resources and filling key information gaps so residents aren’t left searching across hundreds of websites during high-risk disasters.

Orange County has been experiencing the impacts of climate change for years, and those impacts are only going to intensify. CUSP faculty are at the forefront of researching these complex challenges and their multifaceted impacts, and bringing that knowledge directly to communities is vital for building resilience and preparedness.”
