CUWiP Travel Support
We aim to make CUWiP accessible to everyone. All meals, lodging, and accommodations during the conference are organized and the costs are met by CUWiP. You do not need to book or arrange accommodation for Friday or Saturday night. Travel to the conference is usually paid for by your home department. In cases where your own department, or other sources, can not cover the cost, there are funds available to provide support travel to CUWiP so no one has to miss out on CUWiP for financial reasons. In order to access those funds, please email cuwip2020@uci.edu to request travel support before November 2019.
Travel costs will typically be reimbursed after the conference. Before you book a plane ticket, or any other travel ticket costing more than $100, you must first email the cost and itinerary to cuwip2020@uci.edu to receive advance permission prior to incurring the cost. Significant costs which are not pre-approved may not be reimbursed.
Obtaining Travel Support
Step 1
Apply to CUWiP 2020.
Step 2
Once accepted to CUWiP, please request travel funding from your department or campus. You can do so through a faculty and/or advisor – many departments are willing and encouraging! If your home institution will not fund your travels, limited travel funding is available. Please direct travel funding requests to cuwip2020@uci.edu.
Step 3
If CUWiP@UCI agrees to fund your travels, you must send us your planned flights/travel costs for approval before you make the purchase. We can only reimburse air travel in coach class.
Step 4
Keep all original receipts (airfare, Uber, train, etc.). Reimbursement forms will be distributed at a later date. ($45 application fee is not reimbursed).
FYI: No need to reserve hotel rooms all accommodations for the CUWiP conference will be provided such as; hotel reservations, shuttles to and from the conference, and all meals. Thanks to our sponsors!

Services like Uber or Lyft, look for signs for at your terminal designated for “Rideshare Pick-up” zone.
Rail
Our closest rail stations are Irvine Station, served by Amtrak and Metrolink, and Tustin Station, served by Metrolink. These stations are located several miles from the UCI campus. The most convenient transport options between the rail stations and the UCI campus are taxis or ride-share services. The OCTA offers a very limited bus service between UCI and Tustin Station (see below and consult the OCTA Bus Overview page or the Google transit planner for current schedule). Service for certain stops may differ according to daily or weekend schedules.

- Take OCTA Route 472 to North Campus
From Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center (Metrolink & Amtrak)
- Take OCTA Route 59 to UCI
Public Transit

A bus shuttle will transport attendees between the hotel and campus. The shuttle schedule can be found here.
