The first issue

DABIR Vol.1, No.1

It is a pleasure to inaugurate the first volume of DABIR (Digital Archives of Brief notes & Iran Review), published at the Jordan Center for Persian Studies, at the University of California, Irvine. The purpose of DABIR is to disseminate information about the Iranian world and the surrounding cultures, from remote antiquity to the sixteenth century CE. More importantly this peer-reviewed online journal is free and open to all, who are interested in the humanities and the history of the past. The way of the future is to provide platforms which are open and provide easy access to the populace who want to learn and understand what has come before them. DABIR also aims to specifically publish short notes and articles in a rapid and efficient manner, so that scholars are able to put out their ideas in a timely manner.
