I grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and graduated from Eden Prairie High School. For my undergraduate studies, I attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and obtained my B.S. in Bioengineering. I also obtained my M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University before entering into the Joint Biomedical Engineering Program at NC State and UNC Chapel Hill for my doctoral studies. My doctoral research focused on using adipose derived stem cells for musculoskeletal tissue engineering purposes. I continued as a postdoctoral researcher at NC State for a year before moving out to UC Irvine to continue my research in musculoskeletal tissue engineering in Dr. Athanasiou’s laboratory. Outside of lab you can find me working out, dancing, camping, and exploring California.
