“Working at the UCI Writing Project has been a dream come true.”

I majored in Urban Studies at UC Irvine specifically to be a city planner. However, the major revealed to me many issues our world needs to address, with one specifically being the improvement of education in areas of lower socioeconomic status.

Working at the UCI Writing Project (UCIWP) has been a dream come true. It is a privilege to work for a unit that puts grant-funds into great use. Since starting with the Writing Project, I have been able to work on grants specifically funded for the Santa Ana and Anaheim Union School Districts, performing administrative duties to ensure that the many students we serve will greatly benefit in their education. Although I have not ruled out my initial dreams of planning the next “Irvine” utopia in another country, I am definitely happy to be contributing to the UCI Writing Project for the years to come.

I am a passionate fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Panthers, and Anaheim Angels. I love going to sporting events and following statistics of my favorite players. I also am a guitar teacher on the weekend, teaching a class of 10 third-graders Led Zeppelin songs. Most importantly, I love to spend my free time reading the Bible and learning about Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
