“I love working with students, especially with undergraduates.”

I am an anteater! I enrolled at UC Irvine after graduating from Saddleback High School in Santa Ana, where I enjoyed playing soccer, running cross-country, and competing in track and field,

Though I began my years at UCI in Business Economics, I graduated with majors in Sociology and Chicano/Latino Studies. My best and most memorable times as an Anteater were spent studying abroad in Italy and also at summer residential programs I worked for as a Residential Advisor for the Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP).

After graduating from UC Irvine, I worked for the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Ana and for the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) before I came back to Irvine for a position as Administrative Assistant for the Academic English/ESL Program in the school of Humanities. In this position, I confirmed that I loved working with students, especially with undergraduates, and I subsequently focused my job search in this realm. When I came upon an opening for the Cal Teach Science and Mathematics Program, I decided to apply and here I am, Student Services Coordinator, embarked in a new journey that so far, I am enjoying very much. As a Cal Teach coordinator, I am excited to be part of the School of Education and even more excited to grow along with the school.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband (my high school sweetheart) and our lovely dogs, Chiko and Leah. We love taking road trips and enjoy sports, especially soccer.

In the future, I plan to continue with my education and receive a master’s degree in either Student Affairs or Higher Education Counseling.
