Dear campus community,
This fall, I invite you to participate in a range of courses offered by the Office of Inclusive Excellence. The courses and programs are open to all UCI undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Below are opportunities to learn and grow as a community.
Black Thriving Initiative (BTI) Modules:
These virtual modules engage all to prevent anti-Blackness by understanding it. Each five-hour module includes weekly moderated discussions that are supplemented by reading and viewing resources. Participants in Module 1 also have the option to attend a discussion section and to apply for an Inclusive Dialogue Techniques workshop.

UCI community members who sign up for the BTI Module 1 and Module 1 Discussion Section have the opportunity to apply for a 2-part workshop, “Inclusive Dialogue Techniques.” This pilot training builds capacity for members of the campus community to handle triggers and difficult conversations. A limited number of spaces are available.
• Inclusive Dialogue Techniques – Mondays, 10:00-12:00 p.m. (September 13 & September 20). Deadline to apply is September 6
