Creating Excellence Reception and Forum on April 13

Dear campus community,

The Office of Inclusive Excellence invites students, faculty, staff and community members to join a reception and facilitated conversation with scholars extending research and expertise at UCI for inclusive excellence. The Creating Excellence Forum will include a public reception, beginning at 3:30 p.m., and a focused conversation at 4:30 p.m. on April 13 at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center, 100 Academy Way, Irvine, California (on the UCI campus).

The facilitated conversation will showcase innovative scholarship supported by recipients of the five most recent Chancellor’s Inclusive Excellence Awards. Presenters include:

  • Naomi Chesler –  professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and director of the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation Cardiovascular Innovation and Research Center,  The Henry Samueli School of Engineering
  • Alexandra Florea –  assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics, School of Physical Sciences
  • Jamelia Morgan –  assistant professor in the School of Law
  • Tiara Na’puti – assistant professor in the Department of Global and International Studies, School of Social Sciences 
  • Carolina Valdivia Ordorica – assistant professor in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society, School of Social Ecology
