UC Irvine Gives Reprieves to Late Transcript Applicants

UC Irvine, in meeting a situation where 800 more students than expected had enrolled, decided to rescind enrollment for about 500 students who had not met senior requirements, or a transcript deadline.  After much criticism in the  local and national press, the Chancellor, Howard Gillman, decided to intervene and grant reprieves to the 300 students who were dropped just because they did not meet the senior transcript deadline.  The remaining 200 can appeal to be readmitted if there were extenuating circumstances.
