We have so far studied Nate Silver’s 538 ratings.  Now we study Politico’s.

For the Senate, Politico has:

D Solid.  14

   Likely.    4

Lean.     4. This 22 D in the election gives 45 D in the Senate.

Toss-up 5. Need all 5 to give a 50-50 tie.  Which means that VP Pence can vote to pass all Republican appointments.

R Lean.    3. This 8 in the election give 50 R in the Senate.

   Likely.   1

   Solid.    4

The 5 Toss-up Senate states are Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, and Nevada.

For the House, Politico has:

D. Solid   172

    Likely.    20

Lean.     16. This 208 D is short by 10 from 218 to take the House.

Toss-up  28. Need 10 of these 28 for D to take the House

R. Lean.     31. This gives 199 R.

    Likely.    33

    Solid    135

Four of the House Toss-ups are in California.  They are the 10th, 39th, 45th, and 48th.
