@Real Interstellar Communication Would Be Trumpian
We all know that for a universal communication with extraterrestrials, scientists have almost always proposed some universal mathematical or superior physical concepts. This assumes that aliens on the other end are also super mathematicians or physicists. But this leaves out politics, history, and society, which scientists are taught are out of bounds. Obviously, I have broken through that confining Wall, and would like to apply that to @Real SETI alien communications.
The fortunes being made in communications on the web, is all due to the realization that the market of everybody using the web, without an inkling of what goes on in a processor, or http, or 5G, is the goal. Even within a few decades, the scientists who planned the early super-sophisticated communications are gone. The same would surely happen with any advanced civilizations, who would have been trying to communicate for millions of years.
If you look at which leader gets the biggest following on Twitter, it is President Obama, but he is out of power. But Trump is ever popular and retweeted in the popular press, with 65 million followers. The “take me to your leader” request would now be converted to “direct me to your most important tweeter”. Trump has 17,000 tweets from the start of his campaign in mid 2015 to mid 2019.
Furthermore, very few understand the sophisticated mathematics or physics, and those that do do not have the money or time to do SETI. So the SETI searches and communications would be between billionaires and leaders, or those planning to be leaders. Now that this realization sets in: that the most important leader on our planet communicates with his third grade vocabulary, I expect alien contact will occur soon. When aliens used to get the advanced sophisticated signals, as well as the sophisticated universal language attempts, they couldn’t make head or tail out of them.
Note that Trump himself has set up two elaborate attempts to get the furthest societies to provide him intelligence to help him win, and then re-win, power. He would be most interested in communicating with aliens to get any domestic advantage that he could. Maybe they have the secret to how 3 million aliens managed to vote illegally in the 2016 election, without being detected.
Our entire Trumpian federal government is near the end of the Trump program of removing all scientific input to governance and regulations.
In movie coverage, the progression to the non-scientific society is the essence of the “Planet of the Apes” movies, where they worship the bomb, and are about to launch it, without knowing what it is. The scientific and sophisticated language approach is best illustrated in the movie “Contact”. The Voyager 1 spacecraft, launched in 1977, which was sent out of the solar system, had scientific diagrams, and a mix of languages designed to confuse the heck out of aliens.
Very likely the alien societies are also governed by lying and anti-scientific leaders, while still using all of the left-over science creations. So they will immediately glom onto the repeated phrases “fake news”, and “witch hunt”. The vastness of contradictory tweets from our leader, will make them feel right at home, just like Trump feels at home with his fellow dictators and their free speech and press-suppressing club. Of course, the alien messages which we will receive will also be lies and distortions, so they will also be of no value. It is highly unlikely that we will receive any scientific messages to lead us to understanding the deeper mysteries of the universe.
