Trump’s Height Shaming, and the Giant Republican Cringe

Trump was on a Fox News Interview, and his main attack against Democratic candidate Michael Bloomberg was that he was short and asked for a stand to debate the other candidates from.  We imagine that Trump has been a playground bully forever, considering he was probably taller than the other kids.  But putting this on in Trump Presidential ads and on Super Bowl Sunday, you could hear the Giant Republican Cringe from all Republicans across the entire country.  The Senate is three days away from voting that fixing an election is not an impeachable offense, at least not for the one chosen by the Republican core, and Trump short shames almost the entire population, which is shorter than him.  Do Republicans really want nine straight months of Cringing?

Always the one for data, I can’t stop from pointing out all of the Republicans and world leaders who are also shorter than Trump, and are going to feel equally insulted.  Democratic leaders would have compared themselves as more humane and caring than an opponent, and Republican leaders would have claimed Policies that were better for the rich and middle class.

I am aware of a study that taller people are seen as more likely leaders.  This is probably from our hunter days, when they could see further over the grassland, throw spears further, and run faster and further.  Or this could come from combat, for similar reasons and having the longer reach in a fight.  These are not skills needed by leaders today.  The taller Presidential candidate has won the popular vote in 2/3 of our elections, and the the electoral vote more than half of the time.  Surprisingly, when you type a politician’s name, height comes up as the second or third line.

In the Bloomberg Arena, we point out that Bloomberg has rendered a service to all businesses with his business and investment software, and his many publications.  He is worth $58 billion, much higher than Trump, and is the 9th richest American, and 14th richest in the world.  He stands much taller than Trump in pledging to give half of his net worth to good causes.  So far he has donated $8 billion.  Trump is a charity skinflint, was fined for foundation fraud, and ended up giving by buying a portrait of himself.  Bloomberg devoted 12 years to public service as the three term mayor of New York City, and Trump had spent 7 years as a TV star, playing a businessman, and firing people.  I must admit, Trump wins the record for 16,000 lies while in office.

The day that I saw the video of 6 foot 8 previous FBI Director James Comey walk across the room, and towering over Trump at 6 foot 3, I knew he was going to get fired.  Remember when Trump stalked Hillary Clinton in a debate, maybe to show how much taller he was?  It’s very telling how Trump can think that a few inches in height is more important than dropping 30 million Americans from healthcare.

The average height for men around 70 is 5’ 8”, and for women, 5’ 3”.
