Discussion on Healthcare Careers and Specialties with Mark Rupasinghe

Did you know there are more than 120 medical specialties? And the number is growing.

At our last general meeting Mark Rupasinghe, our undergraduate professional development medical student board member, educated us on the different medical professions and specialties available and the secondary education we need to pursue those careers.

Thank you, for enriching our knowledge on the diverse careers available to those of us pursuing a career in healthcare.

FCP Speaks About M.D. and D.O. Relationship at 2017 STFM Conference

Our very own Vice President of the Free Clinic Project, Jeffrey Liu; Head of Community Outreach, Brijesh Sharma; and fellow medical students and physicians were guest speakers at the 50th Annual STFM Conference in Anaheim. They presented their past months of research on the differences between M.D. and D.O. students at our Garden Grove clinic to the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

Our progress as an organization only continues to grow, great job guys!

Free Clinic Project Volunteers at UltraFest

The Student-Run Free Clinic Project at UCI took part in the UC Irvine School of Medicine’s sixth annual UltraFest, an ultrasound symposium to educate medical students from various schools. With our help, both us and the medical students were able to practice ultrasound techniques and build a patient-doctor bond.

With the support you all have provided us, we continue serving our community. Thank you for making this all possible!
