This 8 week certificate program (previously called, Business Concepts for STEM Scientists) is designed to help early career researchers (PhD students, Postdocs) understand business aspects by providing insights into industry structure and functioning. During the course, we will discuss basics of business math, behind the scenes’ of starting a company and functioning of a company (Business model canvas) with specific STEM based companies as examples, value proposition, increasing the value of company/market fit, business strategy & business model innovation, University<>Industry collaborations, business development panel, business communications training and business pitch competition.
Course Fee: While the course is FREE to GPS-STEM members, full attendance is required (1 excused absence allowed) and participation in business pitch competition is mandatory. Watch recordings of 2019 Business Pitch Competition
