Networking & career mentorship are essential components of successful career transitions. In order to facilitate networking amongst our members, alumni and invited speakers, we created a GPS-STEM LinkedIn Group. The goals of the group are to:
- Encourage graduate students and postdocs to connect with one another and grow personal networks
- Highlight GPS-STEM, campus-wide and local professional development & networking events
- Share career opportunities and discuss current workforce trends
Additionally, we host on-campus career and networking nights featuring professionals and alumni from diverse fields. Past career nights included:

Networking Events: GPS-STEM partners with Orange County’s scientists organizations to provide an opportunity to network with industry professionals. The networking events serve as a platform to connect our trainees with OC professionals & also help us build academia<>industry collaborations.

Mentoring Program: Our Mentoring Program is focused on providing 1-on-1 professional mentoring to our PhD students and postdoctoral scientists. Through a series of on-campus and online meetings, we bring together current GPS-STEM members and UCI PhD/Postdoctoral Alumni working in Southern California businesses and institutions.
