Ofrenda Viva

Celebrate the launch of Ofrenda Viva, an interactive Día de Muertos altar created by graduate students in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UC Irvine. This inaugural gathering invites students, faculty, and community members to come together for a Spanish tertulia guided by graduate students Raúl Romo and Robert Munrayos.

More than a traditional altar, Ofrenda Viva honors influential Latin American figures through portraits enriched with QR codes that link to videos, fun facts, and audio narrations prepared by Spanish instructors. The result is a dynamic space for reflection, learning, and celebrating the richness of Latinx traditions.
