UCI CAMPUS ENGAGEMENT AMBASSADORS UPDATES & ACTIONS
It’s the beginning of Fall Quarter 2019 and as we move into this new school year, I want to be sure you are kept up-to-date with everything engagement-related that is going on in the next few months as we prepare to rollout the Engagement Survey results and focus on next steps for people leaders and teams. And although the survey is still a very large part of our engagement activities, we also have other engagement events and initiatives happening at the same time. There is a lot going on!Ambassador Updates
- Thank you!
- ZotGrams are heading your way! I wanted to provide each of you with a note to thank you for all that you did during the survey period and also provide you with the materials to express your own appreciation to those within your units/teams that helped you promote the survey. Be on the lookout for an envelope of ZotGrams that you should be receiving over the next few days. Please use the cards and tokens to thank your colleagues/leaders for helping support our engagement survey efforts!
Post-survey Activities
- The Staff Engagement Survey results are expected to be rolled out to people leaders during the last week of October. I will follow up with confirmed information, dates, and access details once finalized.
- Train-the-Trainer HR Manager Engagement Trainings will be held on October 16th and October 18th. These trainings are for CPOs/HRBPs who will be training their local people leaders on how to interpret and utilize Engagement Survey results to drive a culture of engagement within their teams. In preparation for these sessions, the attendees are being given access to their division/school’s results prior to the training.
- Campus Human Resources will be offering multiple People Leader Engagement Training general sessions for people leaders in November. These sessions are in addition to the trainings that will be provided to people leaders by their HRBPs/CPOs following the Train-the-Trainer Trainings. General sessions are scheduled at Humanities Gateway Room 1030 on November 4th at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., November 8th at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and November 15th at 9:30 a.m. Each training is 2 hours. Please save the dates and help promote. Additional information and promotional materials will be available soon.
- Staff Engagement Town Halls will be held at the Student Center November 12th from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. and November 21st from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.(additional December date TBD) to provide an opportunity for UCI staff to review the overall UCI Staff Engagement Survey results. Please save the dates and help promote. Additional information and promotional materials will be available soon.
Beyond the Survey
- NEW! Bright People Brilliant Solutions (BPBS) Campaign – Now through Thursday, October 10th. Submit and idea of how to improve new hire orientation for a chance to win tickets to see the Anaheim Ducks! The first 135 staff to submit an idea will automatically win tickets with other additional incentives for randomly selected winners. (More details are attached in the promotional email sent 10/7) This is a very short initiative that will only run for a few days! Please be sure to submit an idea by logging into BPBS here and encourage colleagues to participate.
- Additional Incentive for Engagement Ambassadors! We are offering a separate additional incentive exclusively for you – our Engagement Ambassadors. After the first 135 ideas are submitted, you will still have another chance to win Ducks tickets. Email me to let me know you have submitted an idea into BPBS and you will be entered into a separate Engagement Ambassador ONLY drawing for Ducks Tickets. We will be giving out pairs of tickets to 15 lucky Campus Engagement Ambassadors that submit an idea and notify me by Thursday, October 10. Winners will be notified on Friday, October 11. Only 1 pair of tickets will be awarded per staff member.

With everything going on around employee engagement at UCI, I wanted to provide you with a calendar (attached) that provides you with an at-a-glance view of all of the different HR engagement activities.
