The Rest & Revive Challenge Toolkit provides you as Wellness Ambassadors resources to promote emotional well-being within your department. As Wellness Ambassadors, your advocacy can help encourage co-workers to take breaks throughout their work day.
Rest & Revive Challenge Goals
• Motivate employees to take breaks
• Introduce new resources
• Positively influence overall emotional well-being
• Foster a more positive outlook at work and home
• Increase energy levels, relaxation and productivity
When stress levels increase, we put ourselves at risk for future health issues. According to ComPsych Guidance Resources, our Employee Assistance Program, stress and anxiety are consistently two of the top five issues throughout the UCI community. Incorporating mindfulness practices can act as a bridge to help find our balance between work and life. A great way to release some stress is to take some time away from your workplace to go for a quick walk or enjoy a healthy lunch.
To help you motivate your colleagues to take breaks, UCI HR Wellness has created the Rest & Revive Challenge for you to introduce to your department. This is a 6-8-week local challenge that can be run at any time in the year based on the needs of your department. This challenge is a turnkey tool that was adapted from UC Health Plans and includes promotional materials, registration form, challenge tracker, post-challenge evaluation form, and weekly email templates with tips and suggestions.
This toolkit can be tailored for your department and is intended to give you guidance and resources for a successful challenge.
