Lorenzo Valdevit is the inaugural director of the Instiute for Design and Manufacturing Innovation. Director of IDMI. Professor Valdevit is also currently the Department Chair of the Materials Science Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering at UCI.
Lorenzo Valdevit is a Professor of Materials Science and Enginering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Irvine where he directs the Architected Materials Lab.
Professor Valdevit also leads the Architected Materials Group
Our lab addresses a variety of topics in the general area of mechanics of materials and structures. The overarching goal is the solution of technological problems through the integration of analytical, computational and experimental techniques.
