Welcome to UCI Informatics!

Welcome to Irvine, California! Whether you are moving from a place far away or a city nearby, we hope you are settling in and enjoying all that life in California has to offer. IGSA (Informatics Graduate Student Association) represents Informatics and Software Engineering graduate students at the University of California, Irvine.

IGSA has the following goals:

  • advocate for graduate student needs to the department
  • build community in the Informatics department
  • promote informal peer support
  • encourage faculty-student interaction.

We open the fall quarter with a rooftop meet and greet with donuts! And we end the spring quarter with a fun BBQ/cookout!

Twice each month, IGSA will host an informal coffee hour where students can catch up with one another and take a break from work. We also coordinate other social events so you can get to know your classmates and other students in the program!

IGSA elections occur every fall quarter. We encourage you to run for a position and help organize events for fellow students!

Social Co-Chairs

Hi y'all! For those who don't know me, I'm a first-year PhD student in Informatics studying queerness, games, and activism in games. I'm a big board gamer, beach bum, and overall adventurer of good food. As one of the IGSA social chairs, I'm really hoping to bring folks together for some unforgettable fun. And if you have any ideas you want to share, hit me up!
