Three New iBooks Published in the Apple iBooks Store

A team of digital content creators led by Jeff W. Chen, M.D., Ph.D. (Department of Neurological Surgery) has published three books in the Apple iBooks Store. The students working with Dr. Chen included: Ronald Sahyouni, MS2; David Bustillo; Melissa Huang; Bima Hasjim, MS1; Ramin Rajaii, MS2. The core team began working together on their series of iBooks during the Fall Med iBookJam competition where their book on “Heart Murmurs” won second place.

iBooks are multi-touch digital books that are created using iBooks Author, Apple’s tool to create and publish eBooks for iPhones, iPads and Macs. iBooks Author is an easy to use tool that enables anyone with a Mac to quickly produce interactive digital content in a manner similar to creating a Powerpoint presentation. For a quick overview on using iBooks Author, visit: iBooks Author Quick Start Tutorial.
