Winners of the 2017 Med iBookJam

Congratulations to all participants of the 2017 Med iBookJam!

The Med iBookJam competition was held from March 1 to March 10 with twenty-two participants (faculty, staff, students) on eight teams to produce iBooks. An iBook is a multi-touch digital book that can provide an interactive learning experience on Macs and iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones.

On March 10 the submitted iBooks were judged by Dr. Warren Wiechmann, Associate Dean of Clinical Science Education and Educational Technology, Dr. Julie Youm, Director, Educational Technology, and Terri Dean, Director of Curricular Affairs. The winners of the event announced at the Awards Ceremony that same evening were:

First Place: Team 1

iBook Title: Radial Forearm Free Flap

Team 1 Members: Tjosen Tjoa, MD, Kasra Ziai, MD, Omid Moshtaghi, MS4

Second Place: Tie – Team 4 and Team 7

iBook Title: An Approach to AMS Patients in the ED

Team 4 Members: Wirachin Hoonpongsimanont, MD, Khuansiri Narajeenron, MD, Patrick Penalosa, MS1

iBook Title: The Art of Kindness

Team 7 Members: Ralph Clayman, MD, Johanna Shapiro, PhD, Kevin Roy, MS2

Third Place: Team 2

iBook Title: Brain Arteriovenous Malformation

Team 2 Members: Li-Mei Lin, MD, Bima Hasjim, MS2
