UCISOM Student Handbook

The UC Irvine School of Medicine Student Handbook is reviewed annually prior to the start of the MS1/MS2 academic year in August and the MS3/MS4 academic year in May. Accordingly, the Student Handbook has recently been reviewed and updated for the new students who began their clerkships this week.

If you need a refresher on the key School of Medicine policies pertaining to the learning environment, we invite you to visit the Student Handbook site. In particular, we want to bring your attention to the technology-related policy on Social Media, Email and Personal Devices.

This policy is important as our new MS3’s are the first class to engage in HIPAA-compliant electronic communication through TigerText. If you need to reach a third-year student using TigerText, you can find them in the Medical Center Phonebook found on the Intranet.
