The UCI School of Medicine has again been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for a fifth consecutive cycle. AAMC “Fostering Scholarship in Medical Education” Webinar Series

  • The AAMC is offering a new, four-part monthly webinar series that covers strategies to advance your work as an educator, researcher and writer. The series explores the topic of scholarship, which the AAMC says, “drives the practice of medical education forward, affecting how we educate trainees and ourselves, what we know about each other and our institutions, and how we identify and close gaps in our understanding of important topics.” Register for parts one and two now. Dates for parts three and four TBA.

The ELITe Conference: Engaging Learners through Innovation and Technology

  • Feb. 5-7, 2020 at Great Wolf Lodge, Anaheim, CA
  • The 2019 Educating Learners through Innovation and Technology (ELITe) Conference is a three-day conference, designed for health professions educators across all specialties. Education has rapidly changed over the past ten years. Rather than just lectures and textbooks, educators can now choose from podcasts, vodcasts, free open access medical education (FOAM), massive open online classrooms (MOOC), simulation, and audience response systems as instructional techniques or augmentations.

3rd Annual Developing Medical Educators of the 21st Century Course

  • Feb. 10-12, 2020 in San Francisco, CA
  • This three-day professional development course for educators is hosted by UCSF in collaboration with the Kern National Network for Caring and Character in Medicine. All new plenary sessions and several new workshop include topics such as well-being for learners and educators, supporting learners from different backgrounds, new approaches to assessment, educators in the digital age, and many other issues important to educators across the continuum of medical education. Flexible programming allows participants to select sessions aligned with their interests and experience levels.
