Thank you for this. I appreciate how you took time to depict your apartment in a detailed way. There are a couple improvements that could be made to this submission, though. The ways in which “qualitative informations” such as traffic are visually depicted in this piece can make the viewer a bit confused. Especially when its things like traffic or route (that constitute two different registers; ‘intensity’ and ‘direction) are denoted in a similar way (in this case, lines) the information does not convey in an intuitive way. Perhaps thinking about other visual registers such as over-lays (that are wider in length and width but can be controlled with color intensities) as opposed to only thinking about lines could have helped. Another thing is to keep in mind that objective spatial information is never bad; the neighborhood-scale image is good but it could have benefited from having more information written on the map itself and not the legend. I can kind of see why this was hard (seems like this is malibu? there are just cliffs and restaurants there…) but still, doesn’t hurt to try.
Dear Shilpa,

Thank you.
Great points Chaeyoon.. Will definitely apply them moving forward.
