  1. This is cool. I was waiting to see this.

Looking at the enlarged version of your design is really nice. I see that you even used the iOS color pallet. That is one of my favorite pallets. Below is my analysis.

The colors balance out very well and appear extremely clear with good contrast to differentiate themselves among the different topics in your legend. In my opinion the colors balance came out beautifully.

Adding a lighter contextual environment around the main higher color contrast focus area really gives the viewer a greater sense of grounding.

The trees are a nice touch letting the viewer know that the Anaheim Packing District is not entirely in an enclosed environment like the South Coast Plaza Mall.

Visually the thumbnail imagery for the “Mito, Japan,” “Farmers Market,” and “Food Court” squares are perfect. The squares really speak to the viewer and direct the viewer’s eye to the main areas of interest.

The only critique I have is that the square thumbnails, the title text and the legend look like they have been placed on the surface without using a grid for layout. Laying out the these elements on a grid would have brought a slightly greater sense of visual consistency and order to the elements. However, at the same time I am actually attracted to the playfulness that the sense of randomness these elements have. It is as if the elements are saying, come to the Anaheim Packing District and while you are here, eat, relax and don’t take life too seriously.

    Great Job.
