Using 3D models can help a designer to understanding his/her design better in new ways and angles. 3D models are useful when they are not carefully crafted with details. The idea of 3D models is to help designers to evaluate their ideas in a concrete forms from different perspectives.

I really liked your examples and also your blurb. The real life example would be awesome to see in real life too!
An example I have are 3D models of cars to show futuristic designs of cars. This can help us better imagine what the design looks like, and also give us a different perspective of the design.

Shreya, I agree with you on this. I have never created 3D models myself, but I can tell how useful they are. Sometimes, things work well when we think about them, but then actually being able to touch a product is when we can identify its flaws and work to fix them. Your example of cars is a great example of this.
