A Short Statement
Lighting is used as a design strategy to add three dimensional depth to a product, as well as to create a feeling for a theatrical scene, product showroom, architectural structures, etc. Lighting can also be used with motion as a technique to give a digital product or physical product a sense of depth that without the light does not exist.

Real Life Example
Hello Manuel,
I think it is important to understand how lighting is used as a design principle as it can convey a mood, or change people’s moods. As a photographer, we learn various lighting styles to express an emotion such as Butterfly, Rembrandt, Loop and other types of lighting. The subject doesn’t change, just our perception based on how they are lit. Good Job!
