Our experience proposal for Pacific City in Huntington Beach is a site-specific exploration into the water surrounding the city – the ocean and the river.

Unlike the ocean, the river is a forgotten space, waiting to be rediscovered. We propose a bicycle voyage that rediscovers the connection between the river and the ocean.

  1. Hey Annie & Tara, I really enjoyed your presentation. Like Saurabh said, your maps and diagrams in particular are very helpful, and I love how the entire pitch really felt like a full storyline (seems you guys incorporated what we learned in 281!) There is a great sequence of explanations from here’s-our-site to why-and-how-we-should-do this. The part that interested me the most was how you replicated the great sensory traits of being outdoors to create an immersive experience in an outdoor area that falls short in these areas. Overall, great pitch, loved it, would be amazing to see something come of this area in the future since there’s so much potential.

  2. Tara and Annie,

Your pitch deck did a great job of leading me through envisioning the area spatially and gave the backstory to see what the issues were.

I really liked that your experience naturally connects these areas because people must move through the tunnels and pathways to experience it!

It would be helpful to make the thruline between how this experience connects to helping the homeless stronger. At first, I thought the experience was designed for the homeless. Moving the bullet point about how the homeless are benefitted to its own slide might solve this.

Overall, this is great. Makes me wish this is a real experience!

  3. Hi Annie and Tara, I loved the “Map of connection” on page 9 of your presentation. It’s very been done beautifully! Also, your overall idea is so much more developed now. Lovely stuff!
