Team 2 Principle #1: Cathedral Effect

The “cathedral effect” is a spatial principle pertaining to the influence of ceiling height on people. Close proximity to the physical features that define the space can affect people’s focus and behavior by generating feelings of confinement or freedom. Smaller spaces can cause people to feel a sense of urgency to complete the task at hand, while larger spaces encourage more creative and theoretical thinking.
