The 2022 INSPIRE Program project theme is “becoming a maker, not a consumer”.
Simply put, we want to equip you with the tools necessary to make your own tech, not just be a consumer of it. We’ll teach you a little bit of how to design using CAD, create prototypes, and use microcontrollers and code to bring your ideas to life.
The program is divided into these topics:
Session 1: Making Inventions using Microcomputers and Python (July 18-22, 2022)
- Work in teams on specific engineering and computer science challenges
- Receive instruction in basic coding using Raspberry Pi and Python, computer-aided design, rapid prototyping, and fabrication technologies
- Work on a project that employs a Raspberry Pi or python as a integral component
- Learn the latest in 3-D printing technology to build hardware that can encapsulate their sensors and actuators making their projects come to life
