XXVIII JUAN BRUCE-NOVOA | MEXICAN STUDIES CONFERENCE
CARE AND REPAIR
JOIN US ON APRIL 18, 19, AND 20, 2024.
The Department of Spanish & Portuguese at UC Irvine and U.C. Mexicanistas will host leading scholars at the 28th Juan Bruce-Novoa Mexican Studies Conference on April 18-20, 2024. As we come together, we will explore representations of “Care and Repair” in research across academic disciplines.
This year’s presentations, panels, and keynotes will provide an in-depth forum to address past and current approaches to caring and healing communities affected by inequality, violence, neglect, and loss. We are pleased to feature submissions examining themes like:
- Contradictions Around Care
- Immigration and Migrant Care
- Family, Kinship, and Parenthood
- Trauma, Memory, and Testimony
- Environmental Repair and Justice
- Experimental and Creative Repair
- Health, Disability, and Access Studies
- Invisible Labor and Care
- Queer Care and LGBTQ Community Studies
- And More
Join us at UCI as we build connections across borders and disciplines to shape more ethical, inclusive communities.
