Explaining Disrepair: Building Resiliency Through Breakdowns
Do people come to you with “tech” problems? Does your work involve providing technical support? Are you a technical support specialist, technology repair personnel, or simply “the tech person” in a social group/family?
I’m conducting interviews of tech-people who perform technical support, repair, and/or maintenance to better understand the communication styles, levels of expertise, common issues and conversations they encounter when helping others.
Age requirement is between (18-99) and conversational English fluency is suggested. There are no degree or certification requirements to qualify.
Please feel free to set up an interview via Zoom or contact via email at jinah4 at uci dot edu with the headline “Tech Support Interview Participant.”
This project is supported by UC Irvine’s Council on Research, Computing, and Libraries (CORCL) and The Steckler Center for Responsible, Ethical, and Accessible Technology (CREATE) fellowship.
