Teaching Portfolio

Below are a few of my selected works showcasing my skill, experience, and projects I’ve completed as a Instructor.

Information Processing Theory & Learning Myths

8 parts | 85 minutesĀ

This course explores information processing theory and dives deeper into how the brain processes information through the sensory register, working memory, and long-term memory. We then evaluate factors that influence the long-term memory and consider specific pedagogical strategies that can be applied to improve active encoding and retrieval. Finally, we will demystify common misconceptions in learning.

Piagetian Cognitive Development

5 parts | 45 minutesĀ

This course explores individual constructivism and dives deep into Piagetian cognitive development. We will learn about the basic assumptions of individual constructivism, how schemas develop, the differences between assimilation and accommodation, and review the stages of cognitive development.

Metacognition, Transfer, & Problem Solving

6 parts | 75 minutesĀ

This course explores the idea of thinking about one’s own thinking. We will explore what it means to be thinking metacognitive and evaluate different metacognitive learning strategies. Then, we will explore how metacognitive behaviors can lead transfer of learning and increased problem-solving.
