Hi! I’m a current PhD student at the University of California Irvine, advised by Dr. Daniel Epstein.
Before my doctoral studies, I received my B.S. and M.S. in Information Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
My research is at the intersection of critical socioeconomic theory and human computer interaction. Notably, I seek to understand the relationship between the design of personal informatics systems and the varied experiences and lived realities of the users of these devices. I am also interested in navigating the idea of personhood and how cultural and societal circumstances in which one finds themselves has an impact on design choices.
Resume available upon request. For such inquiries or others, I can be reached at wkouaho@uci.edu.
