After the EDS detector was taken away for repair, the EBSD software could not work properly. Oxford application engineer suggested several methods to fix the problem, but they did not work. Finally, EBSD service engineer called me back and checked the system with me on Friday. She concluded that the software was corrupted. I will reinstall the software. Waiting for detailed instructions.

TEM is still working, but a TEM camera problem occurred from yesterday night. It looks like a communication problem, but after changing a cable, the problem remains. I have informed Gatan engineer and will continue trouble shooting tomorrow. Please check LEXI blog for more updates.. Please note that I have lubricated the TEM holders. You need to control the holder better when loading it into TEM.

AFM is down today. A user reported that she could not align the laser on to AFM probe. I checked it and found that the laser vertical was moved too much in one direction. The optical microscope objective lens was adjusted to one limit as well. I am going to contact AFM engineer to check it with him later.
