2800 gun replacement has started and the scope is not available for users till the new gun is conditioned and brought up. Stay tuned for the progress.

2800 gun replacement is done. Users, please make sure that you clean the holders, and your sample.
JEOL still needs a few days to finish. Will send out email once they are done.
The gun is being conditioned at this time. JEOL went to 160kV yesterday and going to 200kV today. Probably the emission will be on either today or tomorrow. After the emission, it will take a week to finish this install.
The bake went well and the vacuum is great. JEOL engineers started conditioning the gun, which will take 2-3 days. Currently they are conditioning at 160kV. they will eventually go up to 220keV before the emission is started. We anticipate it will take till the end of week to condition the gun.
The old gun was removed and the new gun was put on the scope. All the cables are re-connected. The scope will be bake over the weekend. JEOL will come back Monday and start conditioning the gun. Stay tuned.
