Activities

To become a member of MAES all you have to do is attend our meetings as often as you are able to. Whether you attend them all or only a portion of these meetings you are always welcome in our familia.

Beyond becoming a member, there are a variety of ways to become more involved in MAES, all of which are listed below.

General Meetings

Our general meetings are the primary way our club joins together. These meetings may focus on professional development through workshops/information sessions, small social gatherings, or other club related activities.

MAEStros Program

The MAEStros program is our mentorship program in which underclassmen are grouped with a mentor (or mentors) with similar majors and goals. In these familias, we hope to encourage further academic/professional growth and a tight-knit community of Latinos.

Socials

Our club socials are where our members are able to meet and have some fun with each other as a familia. Activities include beach bonfires, restaurant outings, retreats, and an end of year banquet. Check our linktree for information on these events.

Study Hours

We host study hours in different locations in which members can help each other in courses by studying together, providing academic resources, etc. Always feel free to join us whenever you need assistance.

ALMA Science Academy

The ALMA Science Academy is an outreach program in which our members volunteer in nearby underrepresented communities and introduce young students to STEM topics. Join us in inspiring young minds by volunteering today.

Fundraisers

MAES always has fundraisers throughout the year selling pan dulces, paletas, and other treats as well. You can support these fundraisers by volunteering at our booth or by buying from us.

Intramural Sports

MAES has a soccer team and a softball team that you are always welcome to join. No matter the skill level, we would love to see you playing on the field or cheering on our team.

Science Extravaganza

The Science Extravaganza is an outreach event in which we reach out to middle school students by hosting STEM related games/activities to help spark an interest in STEM.
