Hello! Bienvenidos…

My name is Martín Jacinto and I am a proud first-generation college student, former community college transfer student and son of immigrants from Mexico. I am also a proud son of my hometown of Santa Paula, CA.

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).My primary teaching and research specializations include globalization, development, economic sociology, social network analysis, inequality and stratification, and quantitative methods. My work, broadly speaking, focuses on the effects of global economic crises on global networks of production, trade, and finance. The aim is to understand development of Global South countries and how this affects inequality at both the micro- and macro-level of the world economy.
