I was heavily involved in organizing and teaching the MCSB Bootcamp Dry this year. Jun, Lara and I worked together to plan out how the MCSB class of 2019 would be thrown into coding and mathematical modeling. We reworked the curriculum from the ground up this year and decided to organize everything into a repo on GitHub.
I taught the majority of the first two days. The first day was a jump into git and the command line, where we talked about organizing projects and keeping track of long projects. The second day was an intro to mathematical models and comparing them with data, with actin polymerization as an example.
It was a ton of work, but really fun. Hopefully it will be useful to the first years as they go forward! We also learned a ton and hopefully laid a nice groundwork for future bootcamp dry.
