15-Minute Challenge

The goal of the Med PromptJam is to give you a chance to learn at least one new thing about generative AI. The easiest way to get involved is to do this short 15-minute challenge. This is also the competition portion of the Med PromptJam.

Competition Rules

1. Submissions for the 15-Minute Challenge must be received using the form below during the 24-hour Med PromptJam event between 9:00AM PST February 14 to 9:00AM PST February 15.
2. Only submissions from a UCI School of Medicine students, faculty, residents and staff will qualify.
3. Submissions must meet the criteria for three iterative prompts and three responses accordingly.
4. Required questions on the submission should also be completed.
5. The prize drawing will occur on February 15 and announced by 5:00PM PST on the Med PromptJam site:
   • Three student submissions will be randomly selected for a $25 Amazon gift card.
   • Three non-student submissions will be randomly selected for a $25 Amazon gift card.

Steps to Complete the 15-Minute Challenge

1. Fully read the guidelines of the Med PromptJam. You will be asked to attest to this if you would like to submit your work for the competition.
2. Take 12-minutes to learn how to make better prompts:
   • Watch the Practical AI for Instructors and Students Part 3: Prompting AI video (11:41 minutes)
   • OR
   • Read A guide to prompting AI
3. Select a generative AI tool.
4. Write your first prompt.
5. Iterate on your prompt at least two more times to refine the responses you have received. If you plan to submit your work as part of the competition, then save it by copying and pasting the generative AI chat (your three prompts and their respective responses) into a document so that you can submit it following the instructions below.
