Harsha Rao – Co-President
Harsha Rao is an MSBTM candidate focusing on Product Management in the life sciences industry. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from India with a focus in Tissue Engineering and Cancer Research. She interned at Illumina.Inc over the summer in Product Management for the sequencencing systems. Being a Co-president of the MHA, she hopes to foster merage students with valuable connections among various life sciences/healthcare companies. She also wishes to use this platform to hone her leadership and team building skills while constantly contributing to the Biotechnology Industry.
Santi Recuenco – Co-president
Santi is a second-year student in the MS Biotechnology Management program at UCI. After receiving his BS in Biotechnology from the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid, Santi joined the Jasanoff lab at MIT. His work on the development of neurotransmitter-sensitive contrast agents has recently been published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. Following his passion for biology and technology, Santi joined the Weitz lab at Harvard University where he worked on an innovative method of manufacturing agarose microbeads using microfluidics. Most recently, Santi has interned at Deloitte Consulting in their life sciences practice as a Business Technology Analyst where he supported one of the world’s top 10 pharmaceutical companies. As the Co-president of the MHA, he hopes to bridge the gap between students and the life sciences and healthcare industry by providing opportunities to connect and share relevant information.
Kajal Talreja – VP of Marketing
Kajal Talreja is MS in Biotechnology Management Student at UCI. Prior joining UCI, she has done her Masters in biotechnology from India. Over the summer, she interned at Ambry Genetics as Competitive Intelligence Intern supporting marketing strategy and business development initiatives. She is currently channelizing her energy in understanding commercialization of life-sciences industry with a hope to secure a leadership position in the future. As VP of marketing, she intends to learn more about marketing communication, build her network of healthcare professionals from the field and support Merage and the MHA.
Samar Riaz – VP of Operations
Samar is a Biotechnology Management student intending to graduate in June 2020. Before coming to UCI, she completed her bachelors in engineering in Biotechnology from India and briefly worked for the Characterization Development Lab at Biocon. Being a part of MHA is an integral part of her goal at UCI – to build great connections and to develop skills that will help her and fellow students in bridging the gap between healthcare and business.
Priya Prabhu- VP of External Affairs
Priya Prabhu is a second year MS Biotechnology Management candidate. Priya has a degree in Biotechnology Engineering from India, post which she worked at ArisGlobal for 2 years as an Associate Bid Analyst focusing on the LifeSciences industry. She interned at Applied Medical for the summer as a Product Manager for the Clinical Development- MIS team, mainly on Market and Competitive landscape analysis for an upcoming device. As part of the MHA she aims to build connections outside UCI and strengthen relationships between the industry and the students.
Vunshi Saproo – VP of External Affairs
Vunshi Saproo is an MSBTM candidate, 2020. It’s been a very interesting journey for her to UCI, from undergrad in Biotechnology engineering to working for a year at IQVIA, India after which, she decided to pursue her master’s degree here. She has been with MHA for a year as the VP of External Affairs and was one of the organisers for The Healthcare Industry night in spring quarter, which was a very successful event for the business school. She spent her summer interning for Ambry Genetics in the marketing, product management department. A travel enthusiast and passionate musician she loves public speaking and people interaction.
Zoe Shiovitz – VP of Internal Affairs
Zoe is a second-year, full-time MBA student from Los Angeles, CA. Prior to UCI, Zoe worked as a Project Manager at a technology company specializing in software solutions to facilitate the management of clinical trials. Over the summer, Zoe interned at Amazon; after graduation she plans to return to Amazon as a full-time Senior Program Manager with the Alexa Gadgets team.
Hebatallah Eltoukhy – VP of Finance
Heba is a master’s student at UCI in the biotechnology management program. Heba received her BS in chemical engineering in May 2018 before joining UCI in Fall 2018. In Summer 2019, Heba did a marketing internship at Allergan Eye Care in Irvine. Heba is passionate about Healthcare and having an impact in healthcare. After earning her Master’s degree, she plans to pursue a career in healthcare consulting.
Srisreya Madhala – VP of Operations
Srisreya is currently a second year MS Biotechnology Management student focussing on Marketing and Product Management in the Medical Devices Industry. Before pursuing her Masters, she completed her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from India in 2018. Her fascination with technology and curiosity towards Business administration drove her towards pursuing Biotechnology Management at UCI. She wants to merge her technical background in Science research and management skills to pursue a career in the Medical Devices Industry. As the VP of Operations of MHA, she plans to bridge the gap between healthcare and business
