Attachments: UCI Travel Protocol and Guidelines
Dear Merage School Community,
As the COVID-19 issue continues to evolve, it is important that all members of the Merage School Community support each other in protecting everyone’s safety, health and welfare. In addition to well publicized precautions like hand-washing, etc., there are important travel protocols from the UCI Campus:
Travel Alert
Whether for university business or personal travel, let UCI know if you plan to travel anytime. The best way to do this is by registering your travel information at UC International Travel Registry even if you are a U.S. Citizen. Sharing your travel information allows us to have knowledge of your whereabouts should you be in an area of the world that sees an increase in COVID-19 cases such that your return home becomes compromised.
Students: Please let your Program Office know your travel plans so we can provide any necessary accommodations while you are away or upon your return. I also encourage you to share your travel plans with your classmates so they can support you offsite and feel reassured that you are protecting their health by self-sequestering if recommended or required.
Everyone coming to campus from a CDC level 3 country must follow specific guidelines to be sure the campus is protected. At this time, anyone coming back from any CDC level 3 country has to self-isolate for 14 days before coming back to campus. Returning students need to inform the Disability Services Center about their situation (dsc@uci.edu or 949-824-7494). This is the designated resource for informing professors, housing, etc. about your situation.
If you have symptoms and you are a student, you need to phone the UCI Student Health Center about getting tested and/or treated and you need to stay away from campus until you are cleared to return. Phone the Student Health Center to get instructions about how to show up for an appointment (949) 824-5304. Do not just walk into the health center. COVID-19 concerns get special attention and a designated entrance, etc.
These guidelines for returning to campus may also change so check the EH&S COVID-19 website before coming back to campus: https://www.ehs.uci.edu/PublicHealth/coronavirus.html Attached is a copy of the latest message on this topic from this website.
Thank you for actively helping to keep everyone safe and healthy, both physically and mentally.
Best,
Eric Spangenberg, PhD
Dean, UCI Paul Merage School of Business
