MREA’s board is comprised of individuals who are passionate about real estate. We have varying levels of prior experience and different interests, but we are connected as one to help other like-minded individuals. We are excited to be a part of this organization.

Alec Shaul – FTMBA ‘24

Alec Shaul is a 2024 Full-Time MBA candidate focusing on Real Estate and Finance. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Alec completed his undergraduate degree at Boston University with a concentration in Accounting and Business Law. After graduation, he worked in private accounting in Boston’s CBRE office where his interest in real estate developed. After moving back to Los Angeles in 2019, he worked for a real estate firm focused on investments and operations of retail strip malls. Post-MBA, Alec hopes to work in Real Estate Acquisitions and possibly Development. In his free-time, Alec enjoys playing sports such as golf and basketball. He also enjoys finding local hiking trails and spending time at the beach.

Zakary Win is a project accountant for the office and retail portfolio at Arnel Commercial Properties. He is pursuing an MBA in Real Estate and Urban Development at and received his B.S. in Finance from San Jose State University. During his time at UC Irvine, he has competed in the NAIOP Orange Cup Real Estate Challenge and other development projects. Post-graduation, he aims to take the next step in his career in development.

Chase Kayler – Flex MBA ‘25

Chase Kayler is a 2nd year FEMBA pursuing a career in Real Estate investments, particularly private equity, acquisitions, and development. Currently, he is the Director of Real Estate Strategy and Operations at Allied Universal Security Services. This role struck a curiosity and passion in the world of commercial real estate and drove him to pursue his MBA from UCI (due to the Real Estate & Urban Development immersion). His goal is to ultimately pivot from Corporate Real Estate to the Institutional Investment/Development side of Real Estate. Prior to AUS, Chase worked in the aerospace industry at Boeing and Parker Hannifin, rotating through Financial Operations, Contracts, and Procurement. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Finance. Outside of work and school, he enjoys snowboarding/skiing, being outside, learning new things, cooking, watching sports, playing softball, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Nicolas Kramer – FTMBA ‘24

Nicolas Kramer is a first year Full-Time MBA student. Prior to joining Merage, Nicolas graduated from the University of New Orleans with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance. He then started working as an audit associate at the Ernst & Young Berlin office. After getting his Californian CPA license, he joined the EY Los Angeles office where he was holding a leading position as a senior professional. One of his audit engagements was an IPO transaction of a Los Angeles-based athletic apparel company that was pursuing a listing on the New York Stock Exchange with a market value of plus 1bn USD. After graduating from Merage, he wants to pursue a career in finance, more specifically alternative investments such as real estate and private equity. Nicolas is also a teaching assistant, a member of the real estate association and the president of the recently revived financial management association. In his free time, Nicolas enjoys playing tennis (former D1 athlete), golf, going to the gym, spending time with friends and exploring new places in the US.

Kevin Bommarito is a Flex MBA student with a focus on Real Estate and Finance. In 2016 he received a bachelor’s degree in history from California Polytechnic State University. Over the past 2 years, Kevin has led the Sales Organization at SunnyHill Financial. Across his 10-year career Kevin has worked in the California Senate, at a successfully acquired early state start-up, and in Residential Lending focused on consumer finance. When he is not working or studying, you can find Kevin hiking with his dog, Rio, at the beach, or at a Padres game.

Trey Wood – Flex MBA ‘25

Trey Wood is a Project Director at Stonewood Properties, Inc. He leads their Due Diligence Consulting and Acquisition underwriting throughout the United States. Trey is responsible for coordinating third party engineering reports, conducting property site inspections, and analyzing proforma income and expense metrics to verify investment yields. Trey identifies new acquisition opportunities and has contributed to the acquisition of over $500 million worth of real estate. His background in asset and property management across retail, office, industrial, and multifamily product types help clients stabilize newly acquired assets through asset management, construction management, and leasing oversight. Trey has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State’s, Fowler School of Business and is an MBA candidate with a real estate emphasis from the University of Irvine, Merage School of Business. Outside of the office, Trey can be found enjoying various beach or mountain activities.
