TTAP (TOF TDCIMS Analysis Package) is the main software used to analyze TDCIMS data. The TDCIMS is the Thermal Desorption Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometer, a custom-built instrument for measuring ultrafine particle composition. The time-of-flight (TOF) version of the instrument allows for the molecular identification of hundreds of components present in ambient particles. TTAP is used for basic data crunching, with a GUI for some of these functions, and more in-depth data analysis. Many of the functions are specific to the TDCIMS, but many general-purpose algorithms for environmental data analysis may be useful for other purposes. Important features include:
Seamless loading of data crunched in Aerodyne’s Tofware software.
Integration, background-correction, and flexible reagent ion scaling of ion desorption signals.
Analysis of UMR or HR “stick” spectra
Molecular characterization tools (O:C ratios, amines, organic acids, mass defect plots, etc.)
Tools for analyzing desorption characteristics of individual and grouped molecules
Tools for assessing physical characteristics (volume, VMD, etc.) of sampled and ambient aerosol
