NAR’s Bob Ross Day Reimagined!

Hi everyone! Wishing you all a great start to Week 4 as midterm season starts to come around. The staff of NAR is excited to invite you all to our new Bob Ross Day event! We will be painting posters for the upcoming CHC Showcase, a night where you’ll be able to enjoy some amazing performances by CHC students! We are still taking sign-ups as well, so if you are interested in performing a short dance, song, musical piece, drama, etc., we will have more info for you during Bob Ross day! Hope to see you there for fun time to destress during midterm season and help out the CHC student council. Register here!

Where: CHC Locus (5th Floor of Science Library)

In other news, spring submissions for CHC’s creative works journal are now open! The theme for Spring Quarter is “Breaking New Ground.” We encourage you to submit a creative piece based on your interpretation of this theme. General submissions are accepted as well!

CHC Creative Works Contest Winter 2024 – Submissions Open!

Welcome to winter quarter! Hope you all have had a great start to the new year!

All of us at NAR are excited to announce the theme for our Winter 2024 competition: A Droplet in the Ocean!

We’re ecstatic to receive your submissions and discover the different ways you might choose to explore what this theme means to you. Submit to us by the March 1st, 2024 deadline to be published in our winter quarter issue and have your work presented by NAR during our unveiling at the end of the quarter. Whether you’d like to submit a poem, drawing, painting, short story, musical piece, photography piece, etc., we encourage submissions of all types of creative media. Those who submit to our theme contest will be considered for the chance to win a prize! General submissions that do not coincide with the theme are also welcome.

We hope you had an amazing holiday season and welcome you to a new quarter at UCI!

The staff of NAR is excited to present its Winter 2023 contest, featuring our new theme: “Reaching for the Cosmos”!

We’d love to see your submissions and the different ways you might choose to explore what this theme means to you.

Send us a favorite photo you took of the starry night sky! Or maybe a written piece about what inspires you to chase your dreams. Perhaps a sculpture that captures your enthusiasm for discovery. Really anything that you feel sparks your creative interests! All artistic mediums are welcome. Winter contest submissions will be considered for a chance to win a prize. Of course, we also encourage general submissions regardless if they coincide with the theme!
